It was in a remote setting to the main public transport. It was also just next door to subway as well as Nishi market and the main shopping street in Kyoto.

Matsui Honkan is conveniently located just off Nishiki Market, right in the heart of Kyoto, making it an ideal spot for exploring shops and restaurants. The lovely garden adds to its charm, creating a beautiful atmosphere. My room was modern and neat, featuring a refrigerator and Japanese mattresses, which made for a comfortable stay.

Everything is well-maintained, the room is exceptionally good with shower, a bathroom, tatami mats. They have a huge variety of meals to choose from, the food is different.

I was warmly welcomed by the staff at Matsui Honkan who provided helpful information about the ryokan. The room was clean and comfortable, and the kaiseki meal was delicious. The location was perfect, with easy access to the Nishiki food market and other attractions. I had a memorable and enjoyable stay.
